Ingredients List

  1. 400g prawn cutlets, peeled and deveined
  2. 2 eggs, beaten
  3. 50g plain flour
  4. 4 tbsp white sesame seeds
  5. 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  6. 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for shallow frying)
  7. 2 tbsp soy sauce
  8. 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  9. 1 tbsp honey
  10. 1 tsp sesame oil
  11. 1 spring onion, finely sliced (for garnish)
  12. Lime wedges, to serve

Steps

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the sesame seeds and flour. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. In another bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil to make the honey sauce.
  2. Dip each prawn cutlet into the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and coat it again in the sesame seed mixture, pressing gently to ensure a good coating.
  3. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the prawns in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate small pan, heat the honey sauce mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  5. Serve the crispy sesame prawn cutlets with a drizzle of the honey sauce. Garnish with chopped coriander and optional chili flakes for extra spice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
